James R. Kane
Chairman, President and CEO, Pittsburgh Corning
James R. Kane is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Pittsburgh Corning worldwide and is responsible for the strategic direction and operating results of Pittsburgh Corning Corporation (PCC) and Pittsburgh Corning Europe, NV (PCE).
In the last several years, Jim led Pittsburgh Corning’s successful expansion into China through a WOFE (wholly owned foreign enterprise) and has overseen over $100M of new capital investment in PC’s global business. Most recently, Jim led PCC’s emergence, after sixteen years, from Chapter 11 due to asbestos related liabilities. As part of the Plan of Reorganization, the shares of both PCC and PCE have been contributed to the Pittsburgh Corning PI Asbestos Trust.
Prior to joining Pittsburgh Corning, Jim was the Vice President of Business Development with HNI Corporation (NYSE HNI), responsible for creating new business platforms to drive profitable growth. Previously, Jim was VP/GM for several HNI business units with P&L responsibility in excess of $150M. He began his career with Corning, Inc., which coincidentally founded Pittsburgh Corning along with PPG Industries.
Jim received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Director of the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera (CLO) and of Girl’s Hope of Pittsburgh.
Jim and Debbie, his wife, are parents to two grown children and reside in Pittsburgh, PA.
